Bibhuti Bhushan’s House located at Ghatshila which is the house of famous Bengali novelist Bibhutibhushan Bandopadhyay. The name of the house is Gourikunj.

Bibhutibhushan Bandopadhyay was a Bengali novelist and writer. In 1928, his first novel "Pather Panchali" was published, which won him critical attention. In the coming years, with "Pathera Panchali", Bibhutibhushan immediately became a prominent name in Bengali literature. He wrote and published Pather Panchali while staying in Ghatshila, a town in Jharkhand.
Bandopadhyay died on 1 November 1950 in Ghatshil. His house is located at a distance of about 58 km by road from Tatanagar railway station, in Ghatshila block of East Singhbhum district of Jharkhand. He was so fascinated by Ghatshila that he built a red-tiled house for himself, Gouri Kunj – named after his wife. It was here that he wrote most of his novels, which became world-class and were translated into English, French, German and Hindi.
